| About Abbie Conway Abbie began her career by training
as a person centred counsellor and worked for 10
years with highly vulnerable children, young
people and families within the drug and alcohol
field. Abbie has supported many people in crisis,
guiding and empowering them to have the
confidence to make positive changes in their
lives.
With extensive experience
working alongside social services, health,
education and police, Abbie has a solid
understanding of statutory processes and how to
work with the system to get good outcomes.
In more recent years,
Abbie moved into bereavement services where she
supported children and parents through grief. It
is recognised that, although there is not a
death, many separating couples and their children
feel a keen sense of loss at the breakdown of
family life. Abbie encourages clients to accept
these feelings as normal and can give the
encouragement needed to move through the complex
emotions.
Abbie feels passionate
about supporting parents through the challenges
of separation and family court and believes that
everyone can represent themselves given the right
support and guidance. Using her interpersonal
skills and high levels of empathy, Abbie will aim
to empower her clients to feel confident from
beginning to end.
Abbie has completed
training in:Counselling, child protection,
protection of vulnerable adults, managing hostile
environments, CBT, drug & alcohol awareness,
suicide prevention, grief and loss.
Abbie has been trained by the McKenzie Friend UK
Network.
